Biography
LIU Xiao received his bachelor and master degree in Nanjing University in China majoring in chemistry and molecular biology, respectively. He received PhD degree in University of Copenhagen, Denmark. From 2008, he has been doing genomics research and development, focusing on novel methodologies and approaches to apply next generation sequencing technologies to genetics and translational medicine. In the past few years, LIU Xiao took part in and led a lot of significant genomics project and groups, including 1000 Genome project, International Consortium of Cancer Genomics, De novo assembly of Oyster and Giant Panda genome, Sino-Dane Diabetes 2 GWA study (LuCamp), Tibetan population study and Asian Cancer Research Group. Until recently, he has published more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific papers in top journals including Nature, Nature Genetics and Genome Research, with total citations exceeding 20000 and a H-index of 36 (Google), of which more than 30 papers as the first or corresponding author. He is the editor or reviewer for a lot of scientific journals, such as Nature Communications, Cell Research, Frontiers in Immunology etc., and is the inventor of more than 40 patents. His current interests are translational research in Cancer and immunological disease, and T/B cell biomarker discovery in disease diagnosis and progression.
